PYNK was born from conversations that were never meant to stay quiet. In December 2024, I returned to Senegal expecting a trip filled with family, laughter, and familiar moments. What stayed with me most, however, were the quiet conversations shared between women in kitchens, bedrooms, and intimate spaces where honesty felt safer than openness. Women I loved spoke softly about discomfort, recurring infections, irritation, and uncertainty as though these experiences were simply part of being a woman. Remedies were exchanged quietly. Questions were asked carefully. Many suffered in silence, not because they lacked strength, but because these conversations had long been treated as something private, uncomfortable, or even shameful. What struck me deeply was how familiar it all felt. I had asked many of those same questions myself. I recognized the uncertainty, the guessing, and the quiet search for answers about our own bodies. When I returned to the United States, I realized the pattern had not disappeared. It had only changed form. Home remedies became pharmacy shelves. Conversations with aunties became late-night internet searches. Yet women were still left navigating confusion, discomfort, and misinformation often alone. That realization became the foundation for PYNK. We created PYNK Wellness to help shift women’s care from reactive to proactive. A brand rooted in both heritage and science. One that respects the experiences passed down through generations while providing modern, trustworthy wellness solutions women can truly rely on. PYNK is for the daughters learning about their bodies, the women seeking better care, and the aunties whose wisdom shaped generations before us.
